DLBP Successfully Enforces “SUBWAY” Trademark Rights Against Infringing Store in Bali
Dwipo Lubis Baskoro & Partners (DLBP) has successfully resolved a trademark infringement case involving the unauthorized use of the well-known “SUBWAY” mark by a local business operating under the name “Subway Store” in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia.
Acting on behalf of our client, DLBP’s Intellectual Property team issued a formal cease-and-desist notice, demanding the immediate cessation of the infringing use and the removal of all branding, including the infringing store signage. The business owner has fully complied, ceased the unauthorized use, and removed the store plank bearing the infringing mark.
This enforcement action was led by Partner Damar Swarno Dwipo, who commented:
“This case demonstrates our firm’s depth of expertise in prosecuting trademark infringement cases and protecting our clients' intellectual property rights. It also reflects DLBP’s international capabilities and our ability to represent both foreign and domestic clients in enforcing their IP rights effectively in Indonesia and abroad.”
The case underscores the importance of proactive trademark enforcement, especially in regions where brand misuse may occur without proper monitoring. At DLBP, we are committed to providing strategic, efficient, and results-driven legal solutions in all areas of intellectual property law.
