Damar Swarno Dwipo
Damar Swarno Dwipo is a partner, advocate, solicitor and intellectual property attorney for Dwipo Lubis Baskoro & Partners. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of University of Indonesia, Jakarta in 1997 and Postgraduate Program of the Faculty of Law of University of Indonesia, Jakarta in 2006. Mr. Dwipo has extensive experience in the field of intellectual property rights, litigation and also general corporate & commercial law matters. 
 
Prior to establishing Dwipo Lubis Baskoro & Partners, he had worked as an Associate Lawyer at the Indonesian leading corporate and finance law firm, namely Makarim & Taira S. and as a Senior Lawyer at the Indonesian leading intellectual property law firm, namely Pacific Patent. Mr. Dwipo had also worked as a junior lawyer for the law firm of Yan Apul & Rekan, as a legal assistant for the law firm of Lubis, Ganie, Surowidjojo and as a paralegal for the law firm of Mulya Lubis & Partners. 
 
As a registered intellectual property attorney, Mr. Dwipo is officially admitted to practice before the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights of Indonesia. As a licensed advocate, Mr. Dwipo is also officially admitted to practice before the courts throughout Indonesia. He has frequently appeared in the Jakarta District/Commercial Court, the Jakarta High Court and the Supreme Court of Indonesia. He has been involved in a number of international intellectual property litigations in various matters, such as patent, trademark, copyright and industrial design infringements and validities. He also gives consultations and taking legal actions in nullify lawsuits of intellectual property rights, as well as preparing and reviewing of franchising and licensing agreements. Mr. Dwipo also represents clients both in general civil and criminal proceedings and provides professional advice and assistance with respect to the formation of corporations, partnerships and joint ventures, particularly in the establishment of corporations under the Foreign Capital Investment Law. 
 
In his spare time, Mr. Dwipo also gives his opinions about the recent development of the Legal Issues and Intellectual Property Protection in Indonesia to the "Media Indonesia", "Bisnis Indonesia", "Jakarta Post" daily newspapers & "Managing Intellectual Property" Magazine. He is also considered as one of the Indonesian reputable lawyers in the field of Intellectual Property Rights by "The Asia Pacific Legal 500" in 2003 and by "Asia Law Profile" in 2004. In 2004, he obtained scholarship from The Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) & The Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII) to attend The JPO/IPR Training Course for Lawyers in Tokyo, Japan. In 2012, he also obtained scholarship from The Japan Patent Office (JPO) to attend The JPO/IPR Training Course for Advanced IP Protection Practitioners in Tokyo, Japan. In 2014, once again he obtained scholarship from The Japan Patent Office (JPO) to attend The JPO/IPR Training Course for Trademark Experts in Tokyo, Japan. He is also an active member of the Indonesian Intellectual Property Society, the Indonesian Intellectual Property Attorneys Association and the Indonesian Advocates Association. Mr. Dwipo is also an Intellectual Property Trainer at the Indonesian Professional Development Center (the Indonesian Professional Development Center is one of the leading and well-recognized training and people development firms in Indonesia). 
 
He is currently the firm's Managing Partner.
